- About the park
-
Ley Hill recreation ground is set in 48 acres of rugged hilly parkland on the south-western edge of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥.
Its history as public land dates back to the 1950s when the Kunzle family (Swiss-born confectioners and philanthropists) donated their house and adjoining lands to the people of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥. For several years, the land was rented or leased to private owners. In 1960 it became a park open to the public.
Nowadays, the site is easily accessible from a number of main roads and offers a series of walkways through open land and wooded areas featuring:
- Oak trees
- Cedar trees
- Sweet Chestnut trees
- Scot’s Pines
It also features a new and well stocked children’s play area and a football pitch and basketball court, which are well used by the local community.
